Honda Cars India records annual sales growth of 8% in FY 2018-19

New Delhi, April 1, 2019: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in
India, registered annual domestic sales of 183,787 units during FY18–19, recording 8%
growth over last financial year. The company had sold 170,026 units during FY17-18.

The company registered monthly domestic sales of 17,202 units in March 2019, as compared to 13,574 units in the corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 27%.

Mr. Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “We have closed the financial year 2018-19 with a growth of 8%. Strong sales efforts fromthe dealers and company during the prevailing tough market scenario resulted in this growthrate, which is ahead of the industry. One of our growth drivers was the All New Amaze. The launchof our global bestsellers Civic and CR-V reinforced Honda’s premium product line-up.” He further added, “The iconic all-new Civic, which we launched last month has received an overwhelming response and will give the much needed boost to the executive sedan segment in India.”
HCIL exported a total volume of 4,794 units during FY 18-19 with an export of 38 units during the
month of March 2019.
Honda Cars India Ltd expanded its sales and distribution network across the country during the
fiscal year 2018-19 to 381 facilities in 264 cities.

Maruti Suzuki sales in March 2019 and 2018-19


New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold 158,076 units in March 2019. This includes 147,613 units in the domestic market and 10,463 units in exports.

With this, the Company ended 2018-19 with its highest ever total sales of 1,862,449 units a growth of 4.7 per cent. This comprises highest ever domestic sales of 1,753,700 units. The export sales were 108,749 units.


Hero MotoCorp Ltd., the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, continued to further strengthen its market leadership by surpassing 7.8 million unit sales in the financial year 2019 (April 1’18-March 31’19).
With 581,279 units sold in the month of March, Hero MotoCorp capped off FY’19 with sales of 7,820,745 units of motorcycles and scooters during the 12-month period.
The sales during the month of March have been lower due to a conscious effort to bring down the inventory levels in the system.

During the year, the Company introduced Destini 125 - its first scooter in the high-growth 125cc segment. In the initial few months of its launch, Destini 125 has registered robust sales, riding on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers.
